Teen Counseling

Is Your Teen Having Trouble Dealing With Today’s Challenges?

The Amazing Life of a teenager

Teens are amazing people.  They have the curiosity of a child and growing intellect of an adult.  But we all know that teenage years can also be the most difficult.  According to a 2018 study by the American Psychological Association (APA), teens feel more stressed than any other age group. Specifically, Gen Z’s (aged 10-25) are least likely to say their mental health is excellent or very good. Many teens can be overwhelmed with school, friends, peer pressure, sports, clubs, work, college preparations, what they hear on the news and getting ready to “launch” into a life away from home.  As teenagers try to adjust to their growing bodies, changing hormones and increased responsibilities, they also have to learn to cope with a sometimes-frightening world that is in their face 24/7 through social media that never turns off.  Or maybe they’re dealing with divorce or past trauma that is keeping them from their best life. It’s no wonder why young people are more stressed than ever before.  One thing that may never change, teens seldom want to confide in their parents.

teen Therapy Can Help

Today’s teens are more open to therapy than past generations. According to the APA, Gen Z’s are more likely to receive therapy than any other age group. Once they become familiar with their counselor, they recognize therapy as a safe, confidential place to explore their emotions, work out their problems and learn tools to relieve their stress and anxiety. Does your teen ever say that “You don’t get it”, “You don’t understand” or “You’re not listening?” At AZ Pinnacle Counseling, we know that young adults have a unique view of the world and we want to be the best counselors for your teen.  Our trained, compassionate therapists meet your teen where they are to help them through difficult situations including:
