Leslie Standridge, MACFT, Clinical Intern

The most important investment we will ever make is in the wellbeing of ourselves, our relationships, and our families. Taking the first step toward healing is a courageous act, and regardless of the challenges you may be facing, you are worthy of empathy, compassion, and support.  My approach to therapy is to walk alongside you as you discover what wellbeing across these domains looks and feels like to you and help you uncover the pathway there.

My Education

I received my bachelor’s degrees in both English Literature and Film and Media Studies from Arizona State University. Currently, I am finishing my master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy at Antioch University New England.

My Professional Journey

After graduating from Arizona State University, I worked in marketing and public relations. I spent the majority of my PR career as a book publicist, helping authors connect to and share their stories with readers. Publishing a book is an intimate and vulnerable process, and for some, a big step in their respective healing journey. However, many people had minimal support in place to help them navigate the highs and lows of the experience. It was an honor to be a part of their journey, provide a listening ear, and share validation and encouragement. I felt called to pursue a path that was aligned more with this part of the job, and so, I returned to school to receive my therapy education.

In Addition to Therapy

I have lived in the Phoenix area most of my life, and I can’t imagine myself anywhere else! I have a big heart for animals and enjoy spending time with my own pets as well as doing medical fostering when I can. I also love reading, listening to comedy podcasts, watching movies (I’m a bit of an action fanatic), and going to concerts.
