Kristine Hendricks, Clinical Director, MA, LPC

Kristine Hendricks, MA, LPC Licensed Professional Counselor Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Former AZ EFT Board Member

I was raised in North Scottsdale and lived here most of my life. I have always been passionate about families and helping others.  While raising my four children I began researching parenting and family dynamics.  It quickly became my life’s focus.

My Education

While living in San Diego, our home became a safe haven for many teens struggling with a variety of life issues.  This motivated me to obtain a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in San Diego, CA.  There, I received dual certification in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as Professional Counseling.

My Professional Journey

I began my professional career working with middle school students and their families in San Diego, CA.  It was a memorable experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.  I loved watching young people share their struggles openly while working diligently toward change.  After working for many years in San Diego, I moved back to my hometown of Scottsdale, AZ, to continue my professional counseling career.

Working With Various Clients

I began my professional career working with people suffering with severe depression and anxiety among other issues.  I saw huge transformations in my clients lives, attitudes and behaviors.  Many of my clients went from being home bound and stuck in depression and anxiety to changing their lives by working again and contributing to society. Witnessing, firsthand, the power of healing was immensely gratifying work showing me how much I love counseling.

Next, I worked as an Emotionally Focused Therapist - specializing in couple and family issues. I knew I wanted to start my own practice and go back to my roots - North Scottsdale - and work with couples, families and individuals desiring to improve their own relationships.

Starting My Private Practice

AZ Pinnacle Counseling - North Scottsdale

After several years of working at different practices, I went off on my own in 2017 and knew right away that I had really found my niche.  While working in private practice, I realized that strengthening parent relationships has an incredibly impactful trickle-down effect on a parent-child relationship as well as their mental health.  It is so rewarding to hear stories of children who were initially struggling in school but finally realized academic success as soon as their parents’ relationship stabilized.  Similarly, when a couple’s relationship begins to improve, the children begin to get along with each other as well.  These success stories motivate me to passionately help as many people as possible.

Now, my practice has grown to include the role of Clinical Director for six wonderful therapists, I feel so fortunate to have a team of therapists who are also very passionate about counseling. It is a joy everyday to work with all of you!

In Addition To Therapy…

Outside of enjoying my work, I enjoy the great outdoors by engaging in many activities.  I love hiking and exploring our beautiful state of Arizona, or body surfing in San Diego, which is still a treasured joy of mine. Running and exercising has always been an important part of my life.  Spending time with my children, family and friends warms my heart.  I also love to read and consider myself a student for life.
